The Move To Amend movement is gaining momentum. President Obama just endorsed the idea of a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United. A good amendment would be get the big money out of politics, end the doctrine of money as speech, eliminate corporate personhood and restore our democracy. But as Move To Amend co-founder David Cobb said recently, it won’t happen unless We the People rise up in “righteous anger” against the injustice of corporate rule. Here are three events in the Madison area where you can get out and take action:
Move To Amend Letter to the Editors Party:
Let’s get together, get to know each other better, have some fun and write letters to the editors of Wisconsin newspapers. Bring your laptop, if you have one. Otherwise, just come and have some fun with like-minded people! Letters are completely optional. A dish to pass is also completely optional. Let’s talk, listen and make plans to take back our democracy. If you’re on Facebook, please RSVP now!
